Bealby Point "America" - Single Review

Meeting at some sort of crossroads between nostalgic heartland rock and modern indie rock, Bealby Point's newest single America hits home for fans of all different types kinds of music. A sheer lighter-waving song, the almost yacht rock-esque sway of the song gets turned on it's head once a rippin' 80's style rock guitar solo breaks through towards the end of the track. In listening to this band as a whole though, this song is a gentle, yet powerful addition to a discography a bit more akin to the Bloc Party side of alternative, although definitely a notch more towards the post-punk side. In contrast to tracks like Talk to Me and Telescope, just belting out The Strokes influence, America shows the bands ability to effectively branch out a bit, which they did very well.
