Dan Sharp "Aviation" - Single Review

Updated: Jul 30

8.5/10

In a pleasantly unique blend of Caamp sounding raspy vocals and early 2000's post punk backing Dan up, his new single Aviation checks all of the singer songwriter boxes, while also catching the ears of those who like their music a little heavier. Sounding somewhat to a cousin of Mt. Joy, the band cranks the guitars up more and more as the song goes on building into a catchy solo. This may be a "New Music Friday," song that can catch you off guard as some sort of singer-songwriter/roots rock/post-punk hybrid. This single seems to get better with each listen, especially if you vibe with the singer-songwriter style but have a sweet spot for those more rockin' tracks that can just go SO hard.
