Powers and the People "Hungover" - Single Review

8.5/10

Nashville indie quintet Powers and the People's 2nd single finds itself satisfyingly reminiscent of the Rilo Kiley side of early 2000's indie. With subtle roots of emo, post-punk and soul, singer Adeline Powers captures a level of emotion that much modern music finds itself lacking. Rock-forward, subtly distorted guitar playing alongside Powers vocals really will sell the track to fans of early 2000's indie. Hungover shows the wonders of mixing talented independent musicians with top tier recording, leaving nothing sounding out of place on this track. Fingers crossed the band has a full-length album on the docket for release sometime in the near future.
